CIFA- Cocktail reception in Hotel Krasnapolsky a big success About 400 persons attended the CIFA - reception this past Monday, September 18th in Hotel Krasnapolsky, Amsterdam. This cocktail party was organized around the 60th International Congress of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) which was organized this year in Amsterdam. The major focus of the IFA Congress this year was international tax issues relevant to the business community engaging in cross-border activities. A range of specialists from both the public and private sector world wide participated. The cocktail party was the ideal opportunity for CIFA members present to network with professionals and (potential) customers from everywhere across the Globe; the ideal occasion to share the latest news about Curaçao as an International Financial Services Center. The CIFA reception was also attended by amongst others Mr. Paul Comenencia, Resident Minister of the Netherlands Antilles in The Hague, Mr. Alex Rosaria, State Secretary of Fiscal Affairs, Prof. Maarten Ellis, Special Advisor to our Minister of Finance and Secretary General of IFA and Prof. Dr. Han Koges, Chairman of International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation. The reception started at 9:30pm and lasted till well after 1:00am. We thank all our sponsors who made it possible to organize such a great event, seizing the opportunity available for have so many professionals in the tax and international financial services field focus on Curacao! Next year the 61st IFA congress will be held in Kyoto, Japan. The obvious success of this event certainly encourages exploring the possibilities to repeat this event in Kyoto. We hope then to be able to present Curacao’s new business opportunities; perhaps a mini seminar? New legislation should have been realized by then while again new initiatives will be well on their way.
