Progress Update Superstructure Works

Inspections Over the last 4 weeks thorough inspections on the existing wood took place. For completion of this important activity Supervisor WSP Imc invited wood specialist from the UK. For assistance at his activities a local engineer was involved who also was a member of the Design Team that prepared the Tender Documents. Reports were prepared upon the condition of the existing wood structure. The resulting reports outline the required replacement of timber parts in the lower section of the Bridge Structure. Generally the inspection reports remain within original tender expectations. Progress Over the past month, the preparation of new chocks from outcoming wood progressed considerably. Also the installation of new upper and lower girders took off (see pictures included). Currently, the progress on installation of new wood is a bit below expectations as a result of delayed wood deliveries from Europe. Next shipment is expected at the middle of October.
