Restoration Queen Emma Bridge started

On August 1st 2005 the restoration works to the famous Queen Emma Bridge have been started by towing the movable part from her original location in the Anna Bay to HCCC’s yard along the Bay of Versali (Parera). During the coming 8 months, HCCC will carry out a complete restoration on the Superstructure Works of the bridge generally including the renewal of the deck and the horizontal beam constructions straight underneath the deck. Simultaneously, HCCC will also undertake, on a separate Ancillary Works Contract, the restoration of the abutments which generally include the application of grout mortar under the abutments and the renewal and reshaping of the stone protection dam at the bridge location of the in the Anna Bay.
